Vogene Connor

Vogene Connor, 87, of Tichnor died May 1, 2013. He was born July 20, 1925, in Tichnor to August Vogene and Beatrice Eichler Connor. Vogene was a farmer and served in the Army during World War II. He was the Post Commander of the American Legion Post #158, board member of Arkansas County Extension Service, board of directors of Farm Bureau, member of Arkansas County Fair Board, 40 et 8, DeWitt Riding Club, and a former member of the Arkansas Cattlemens Association. Vogene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Earlene Fox Connor; and brother, Hugh Connor. He is survived by his daughters Earla Kay Dillion of Tichnor, Sis Connor of Pine Bluff, and Karen Mills of Crossett; grandchildren Darwin Dillion, Kelly Haney, Crystal Haney Gonzales, Chastin Mills, and Tammy Dillion Suitor; great grandchild Connor Dayton Mills; and brother Doug Connor of DeValls Bluff. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., May 3, 2013, at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in DeWitt Cemetetry by Essex Funeral Home. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. May 2 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
