ELBERT CRAWFORD III went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2013. He was born June 20, 1966 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Elbert Crawford Jr. and Edith M. Crawford. Elbert III accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in Helena, Ark. He was a member of Centennial Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the junior usher board. Elbert received his early education in West Helena and Little Rock, Ark. During his youth he was an active member of the Boys and Girls Club. Elbert attended Hall High for his high school years and was a member of the Warrior Football Team. He later attended college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of the Razorback Football Team. Elbert went on to grace the playing field of several professional teams as: Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos. Elbert was said to have had a heart of gold when it came to helping anyone in need. He was a mentor to many youth who have gone on to become successful men and women. The lives he touched while on his journey were vast. His spirit will be forever felt by those who had the awesome pleasure to have met his acquaintance. Elbert was united in marriage to Andreia Lynn McPherson and to this union was added two beautiful children Crystal Yvonne Crawford and Elbert Crawford IV. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife and two children; his mother, Edith M. Crawford; mother-in-law, Lizzy McPherson; two brothers, Christopher (Sharon) Crawford and Andre L. Crawford; three brother-in-laws, Fredrick D. McPherson, Samuel J. McPherson and Keith (Gwen) McPherson; four sisters, Jacqueline R. Murdock, Deborah (Pastor Michael) McGruder, Evelyna Crawford and Joyce M. Crawford; one sister-in-law, Patricia A. Bryant. Elbert had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Visitation will be from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S. Battery Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202, (501)-376-4800. Homegoing service will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 9 a.m. at Moody Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, 2101 Barber Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72206 under the directions of Premier Funeral Home. "Only Heaven Can Serve You Better!"
