The Spirit and Soul of Danny R. Perkins was lifted up into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Sunday morning at his home on May 5, 2013, surrounded by family. He was born June 22, 1960 in Little Rock to the late Lillie Mae Perkins and Robert Brooks. He was a loyal and dedicated member of First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. William L. Robinson, SA Jones Drive, North Little Rock, for 31 years. Danny was a loving father and grandfather and loved giving his time to help others. Danny had strong work ethics. He began working at the early age of nine and worked continuously until the age of 50. He worked for Keathley's Curb Market, the Arkansas State Press and the State House Convention Center. He is survived by his daughter, Stacy L. Perkins of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Brailon Williams and Brandon McFadden of North Little Rock; sweetheart, Bernice Perkins; five sisters, Bessie Allen and Betty Porter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dorothy Conic, Laura Williams and Latoria Brooks of Little Rock; one brother, Jerry Brooks of North Little Rock; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Brooks and brother, Willie James Perkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at First Baptist Church, 811 SA Jones, in North Little Rock. Interment will follow at Oakland Fraternal Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the ALS Association Arkansas Chapter, 1200 West Walnut, Ste. 2309, Rogers, Ark. 72756.
