Mr. Robby L. Thompson, 82, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. Mr. Thompson was a native and life long resident of Hamburg and Ashley County. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a cattle farmer; the owner of R. Thompson, Inc. and the Catfish Inn in Hamburg and Sterlington, Louisiana for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hamburg and he attended the North Main Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Noma Dean Thompson on Friday, May 3 and his parents, Lovell & Nettie Craig Thompson. He is survived by two sons, Gene Thompson and wife, Pat, and James Thompson and wife, Sherry; a brother, Tommy Thompson, all of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Leann Coody and husband, Caleb, Tyler & Hunter Thompson; two special cousins, Jerrie Thompson of Crossett and Anita Bierbaum of Hamburg; special care-giver, Nancy Gray and close friend, Rita Roberts. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Thursday in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Brooks, Shane Smith, Jon Bierbaum, Bill Cason, Richard Gwin and Tim Smith. Honorary pallbearers are James Robinson, Billy Howie, Doyle Glennon, Glynn Riels, and the LaGrone Drug Coffee Club members. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 202 S. Main, Hamburg, Ark. or to the North Main Baptist Church, 1100 North Main Street, Hamburg, Ark. 71646.
