Marvin C. Woeltje

Marvin C. Woeltje, 88, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. He was born June 1, 1924 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Ernst C. and Agnes Woeltje. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Offrim Woeltje.0 After graduating from Harris High School in 1942 he served in the United States Navy in the Pacific, aboard USS Holton DE 703, during WWII. Following his military service he was employed by GATX until his retirement in 1987. After retirement he traveled and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He moved to Little Rock in 2004 to be closer to his daughter and her family. Marvin is survived by his daughter; Judy Anderson, grandchildren; Matt Anderson (Amanda) and Amy Anderson, as well as one great-grandson; Braydon Fletcher, all of Little Rock, and many close friends who loved him dearly. Visitation will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9:30 until 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, Ill. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oak Brook Terrace, Ill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church 315 S. Hughes Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72205 or American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72207.
