Alvin Edward Holmes

Alvin Edward Holmes, 86, of Stuttgart, died Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, and a grain inspector for the USDA for many years. Alvin is survived by one daughter, Valarie Underwood of Trumann; one brother, Charles Holmes of Biscoe, and two granddaughters, Heather Underwood of Jonesboro and Courtney Chapman of Little Rock. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery at Hazen, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart in Alvin's memory.
