Michael Doak Ashburn

Michael Doak Ashburn, age 63, of Bald Knob, passed away May 8, 2013 in Kentucky. He was born in McCrory on February 10, 1950 the son of Robert and Emogene Ashburn. He was Marine and a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was employed by Texas Gas Transmission for many years. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bald Knob before taking a job out of state. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and working on old cars and trucks. He leave to cherish his memory a daughter, Amber Ashburn Roberts and her husband Chuck; two grandsons, Michael Austin and Maverick Cole Roberts of West Monroe, Louisiana; a son, Chad Douglas Ashburn of Bald Knob; three granddaughters, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Lyndsey Ashburn of Covington, TN; his father, Robert Ashburn (Mary) of Truman; brothers, Kenneth Ashburn (Becky) of Bald Knob and Timothy Ashburn of Colorado; as well as many family members, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his mother Emogene Ashburn and one grandchild. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Community of Christ Church, coroner of Hickory and Cleveland St. in Bald Knob, Arkansas at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend and if you have a funny story or would like to say a few words you will have the opportunity to do so. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
