Funeral services will be held for James "Jimmy" Claude Ward, age 62, at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Eddie Ballance will officiate. The interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. James "Jimmy" Ward of Arcadia, La., went home to the Lord on May 21, 2013. Jim is a graduate of Arcadia High School. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1973, where he received several medals for his service. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Claude Ward Sr. and Lois Tanner Ward of Arcadia. Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years Kristy Poor Ward of Arcadia, LA; children Jeremy Ward of Richland, MS, Carly Ward Miller of Ruston, La., Jennifer Crowe Ezell of Franklington, La. and Lindsey Ward of Little Rock, Ark.; sister Helen Ward Robertson, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was employed with Pickett Industries for 16 years as an Operations Manager in Shreveport, La., Little Rock, Ark., and Jackson, Miss. Jim Completed his working career as a truck driver at Embridge. Jim is known by his numerous friends as an avid story teller and jokester. Jim enjoyed spending his time surrounded by his family, friends and his beloved dog, Ivory Jean. Pallbearers will be Don Robertson, Bill Smart, Jeremy Keen, Jeremy Ward, Danny Christian and Tracy Jones.
