Sandra Kaye Shannon McKnight, 68, of Bee Branch, joined the Lord Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born March 16, 1945, in Conway, Ark. the daughter of the late Mark Dewell Shannon and Essie Williams Shannon. She was a 1963 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a member of Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for many years. Sandra was known for her incredible love and selflessness towards her family; her faithfulness and dedication to her church; her scrumptious cooking (her meatloaf and baked beans will be sadly missed); her beautiful smile and joyful laugh; her prodigious vocabulary; and her soprano singing voice that could hit the highest notes. She and Dean enjoyed taking drives through northern Arkansas, especially to Ponca to see the elk. Sandra is survived by her husband of fifty years, Harold Dean McKnight; a son, Michael Regan McKnight of Damascus; two daughters, Shannon DeAnna Atkinson and husband Steve of Houston (Perry County), and Brooke Caroline McKnight of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Nicholas Barrett McKnight and Michelle McKnight Warner; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Rayne Warner. She is also survived by two brothers, Larry and Marti Shannon of Choctaw and Duane and Wanda Shannon of Clinton. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Her service was Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church, 5153 Highway 92 West in Bee Branch and will be officiated by Rev. Billy Henderson. Pallbearers are Regan McKnight, Barrett McKnight, Steve Atkinson, Mark Shannon, Daniel Shannon, and James Shannon. Burial will be at Blackwell Cemetery.
