Rev. Gerald Thompson, age 52 of Southaven, Miss. went on to be with our Lord and Savior on May 22, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto County, Southaven, Miss. He was surrounded by those he loved and cherished. He was the Pastor of Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, Lamar, Miss., and he served faithfully until the day he made his transition. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Herman Massey; grandmother, Eddie Mae James. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 23 years, Vikki Thompson; two step-sons, Andre and Byron Vault; mother, Minnie Massey; two brothers, Donald and Harold Massey; two sisters, Sharon Massey-Tate and Cheryl Massey; two nephews, Aaron Massey and Timothy Driver; one niece, Jasmine Massey; a host of family and numerous friends. A celebration of his life will include a musical tribute on Tuesday, May 28, 6:30 p.m. at Covenant of Zion Cathedral, 3023 W. 12th St., Little Rock. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, May 29, 12-6 p.m. at Robinson Mortuary Chapel, Little Rock. Home-going Celebration will be held Thursday, May 30, 11 a.m. at Greater Second Baptist Church, 5615 Geyer Springs Rd., Pastor David Featherstone, Officiating; Dr. Frank E. Ray, Sr., Eulogist.
