Daisy Gentry

DAISY B. GENTRY, 93, died May 25, 2013. She was born to James J. and Louise Stockwell on Nov. 10, 1919, in North Little Rock, Ark., where she lived most of her life. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gentry (2000); by her siblings, Sidney Stockwell of North Little Rock, Florence Buckley of Carlisle, and Ida May King of Fort Worth, Texas; and by her daughter, Gail M. Young of Prescott (2012). She is survived by a son, Bruce Gentry (Alice Friman) of Milledgeville, Ga.; a son-in-law, Michael C. Young of Prescott; a grandson, Britt Young (Danna) of Maumelle; a granddaughter, Amy Wilson (Marcus) of Arkadelphia; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Harper Wilson and Quentin and Elyse Young; a brother-in-law, Roland Gentry (Hazel) of Lonsdale; and two nieces, Virginia Broadaway (Jake) of Maumelle and Judith Ann King of Little Rock. A longtime member of Levy United Methodist Church, Daisy had strong interests in reading and cooking, served as a volunteer for Baptist Wellness Clinic, and was a member of the North Shore and Patrick Henry Hays Center Bridge Clubs. She held a variety of jobs, including six years helping to run Gentry's Food Center in Gentry. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock on Wednesday, May the 29, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May the 30, 2013, at Levy United Methodist Church at 10a.m. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park, Hwy. 5 in Alexander, Ark.
