Edward Lee Gookin 84 of Mabelvale passed away on May 25, 2013. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII he was a bomber pilot. Ed was a barber for over 40 years. He loved listening to the radio, telling jokes and making people laugh. Ed also enjoyed working outside in his garden, he would can his vegetables and give them to his family and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gookin and daughter, Lian Gookin-Rowe. He is survived by three children, Val Gookin, Gigi Meek and Jaran Gookin; grandchildren, Alexzandrea, Michael, William Edward, Valarie Varmer, Toni Lee, Nomi, Demetre, Savanna and Megan and a host of brothers, sisters and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant 501-847-9099.
