Mike Massey

Mike Massey, age 61, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 in Shawnee. He was born February 20, 1952 to Yates and Tommie (Moore) Massey in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Mike was raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated from Dollarway High School in Pine Bluff. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas. He married Dianne Woodruff on August 16, 1991 in Taylor Arkansas. Mike performed nuclear scans and echos for the Shawnee Heart Center for 20 years. He touched many lives with his words of encouragement and his healing hands. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mike loved to cook, garden, and tour Civil War battlefields on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed attending OSU games. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Mike is survived by his wife, of the home; one daughter, Emily Eley of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Michelle Jandebeur of Charlotte, N.C. and John and Amy Jandebeur of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Lexy, Caden, Peyton and Gabe; mother and father, Yates and Tommie Massey of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Melody and Mark Hagar of Hardy, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Clara Massey of Lonoke, Arkansas and David and Tammie Massey of Tulsa, OK; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Services were held 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
