Charles Holden

Mr. Charles Holden, 91, of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was born on September 9, 1922 in Haynesville, La. to Joseph and Annie Mae Holden. He was married to Mary Kathryn Holden for 64 years prior to her death in 2011. Mr. Holden was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister and five brothers. He is survived by his brother, Floyd Holden (Mary) of Sherwood and his beloved nieces and nephews: Joey Holden of Ft. Smith, Jeff Holden of Sherwood, Marilyn Wirt of Little Rock, Dottie Martin of Gravel Ridge, Charles Lee Marden of Ft. Worth, Texas, Darriel Scott of Sherwood, Carolyn Berry of Bryant, Glenn Holden of Spring, Texas, Wayne Holden of Cross Junction, Va., Gary Holden of Hot Springs, Patty Phillips of Redfield, Sheila Kemp of Benton, and Brenda Skinner of Hot Springs. Charles was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Air Force from 1942 to 1945 in England as a B-17 Radio Operator. He worked for the State of Arkansas as a financial administrator until his retirement. Charles was a long time, active member of his beloved Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and leaves many friends along with his family to cherish his memory. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 5300 Stagecoach Rd., Little Rock, Ark. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. following the visitation. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. (501) 835-3515.
