Betty J. Smith

Betty J. Smith, age 76, of Eudora, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at her home. She was born June 10, 1937, in McGehee, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Havis Stark and Mary Sikes Stark and was a retired food director for Eudora Schools and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Smith, a brother, Donny Stark, a grandson, Virgil Pennington, a great-granddaughter, Hannah Blount and a son-in-law, David Pennington. Survivors are her husband, Virgil V. Smith of Eudora, three sons, Billy Smith and wife, Edith, of Mena, Frankie Smith of Mena, and Tim Smith of Eudora; three daughters, Vickie Robbins and husband, Steve, of Mena, Trenda Blount and husband, Phillip, of Conway and Penny Hodgkins and husband, Jim, of Ringgold, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jody Gannaway officiating. Burial will follow in Dermott Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
