G. A. Graves Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 20, 1927 in Sheridan, Arkansas the son of the late George Arthur and Bessie Easterly Graves. He had served in the United States Air Force and later retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Mabelvale and had previously been a member of Baseline Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, but mostly he enjoyed being a loving "Granddad". Mr. Graves died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock at the age 86. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Graves and a sister, Betty Graves Horton. Survivors: spouse, Lois Charleen Moore Graves of Sheridan; sons, Rick and wife Patti Graves of Little Rock; Gary and wife Lisa Graves of Dallas; Chuck and wife Tina Graves of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Bobbie Graves of Russellville; sister, Carolyn and husband Donald Davenport of Little Rock; grandchildren, Rebekah and husband Wesley Turner, Aaron Graves, Ben Graves, Micah Graves; great-grandchild, Noah Turner and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Parrish officiating. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionary Baptist Seminary, 5224 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
