Phillip Wayne Ray, 72, of White Hall, died Thursday, November 14, 2013. He was born July 31, 1941 in McCrory, son of Raymond and Nancy Kendrick Ray. Mr. Ray was reared and received his early education in McCrory and Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He served as a fireman for the Pine Bluff Fire Department, retiring as a captain. Mr. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church in White Hall. He was also a Mason and member of the Fraternal Order of Firefighters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Legion Ray, whom he married April 21, 1959 in Rison; his parents; son, Russell Wayne "Rusty" Ray; and three brothers, Bill, Charles and Eugene Ray. Survivors include his son, Scott Ray and his wife, Andrea, of White Hall; grandson, Tanner Ray of White Hall; granddaughter, Erica Smith of White Hall; brother, Floyd Ray of Arkansas and sister, Lola Hobbs of Texas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
