Helen C. Mitchell

HELEN C. MITCHELL, 90, of Little Rock, Ark., made the transition from this earthly life to her heavenly home on, Nov. 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sim Mitchell. She was a mother to nine children: Bobby (Loretta) Maryman, Woodson, Ark.; Betty (Aljavan) Martin, Kerr, Ark.; Charles Maryman, Wichita, Kan.; Billy and James Mitchell, Little Rock, Ark.; Randy (Demita) Mitchell, Hensley, Ark.; Cynthia Mitchell, Hot Springs, Ark.; Constance (Donald) Rufus, Conway, Ark.; and Gary (Phyllis) Bailey, Little Rock, Ark.; two sister-in-laws, Helen (John) Johnson, Oakland, Calif. and Charlotte (Melvin) Floyd, Little Rock, Ark. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was a cosmetologist for over 50 years and Co-Owner of La' Girls with Mildred Granison and Rosemary Smith. Co-Workers were Dorothy Robinson and Barbara Bolden. She was a member of the Arkansas Sickle Cell Foundation, 24 Holder's Golf Club, and the Arkansas Beauticians Association where she served as chairman of the trustee board.
