Floyd Leroy Stelzer, 91, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was born on September 29, 1922, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Pearl Stelzer. He was reared near Norwood, Missouri and graduated from high school there, after which he worked for six years for the Southern Pacific Railroad in California. He then returned to Missouri and earned a Petroleum Engineering degree from the Missouri School of Mines and after a short term of employment with Phillips Petroleum Company, spent his entire career with the Conservation Division of the United States Geological Survey in Tulsa, Oklahoma, advancing to head the office as Regional Oil and Gas Supervisor for a number of years. Dessie, his wife of 55 years, preceded him in death on May 12, 2002. They enjoyed traveling and had toured extensively in the states as well as abroad. Floyd was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Survivors include daughter, Sharon Jo Sullivan and her husband, Paul, of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Michelle Cooper of Fayetteville, and Phillip Sullivan of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Tanner Sullivan of Little Rock. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, (501) 224-8300, with Mr. Nick Hamilton officiating. Entombment will be in the Riverwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Maumelle, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the funeral home.
