Darlyne Evelyn "MeMaw" Eveland Paulsen, age 77, received her angel wings on November 19, 2013 surrounded by loving family and friends. Darlyne created a lifetime of wonderful memories with everyone she knew. A shining example of kindness, strength and generosity, she lovingly guided her children and grandchildren through life's trials. Her beautiful spirit and predisposition to love unconditionally will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chacy Rudolph, Sr. and Mary Edith Rice Eveland; and sister, Phyllis Wilkinson. She is survived by her partner Charles W. Graham, daughters, Sherry Staber and Pamela Brannan; granddaughter, Megan Staber; grandsons, Zachary Brannan and Adrian Brannan; sister, Christina French; brothers, Chacy R. Eveland, Jr., Soloman Eveland, Randal Eveland and Roger Eveland; in addition to many loved nieces and nephews. Since graduating summa cum laude from Arkansas State University with a major in Fine Arts, minors in History, Literature, Speech and Drama, she was dedicated to promoting the arts. She was an inspired prolific artist portraying her visions through her paintings and sculpture. Her works are represented in art collections in forty-two US states, plus Canada, France, Germany, Nicaragua and Mexico. In addition, she received many awards on the national and international levels. Teaching in public school and privately, serving for many art associations, including the National Endowment of the Arts, lecturing for many organizations, including the University of Mexico, writing two Art Curriculum Guides for Arkansas Schools, and serving as judge for many art organization, including a Louisiana State Exhibit, was her way of giving back her many talents to others. President Clinton presented her with the "Arkansas Certificate of Recognition for distinguished accomplishments as a citizen of Arkansas dedicated to the service of its citizens". A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. (501-791-7400).
