Cody Wayne Newton

Cody Wayne Newton, age 26, of Leola, Ark. went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. He was born Nov. 14, 1987 in Malvern, Ark. with a serious heart condition to Claude Allen and Sally Ruth Newton. Cody battled his heart condition all his life. Cody was a member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church and a 2007 graduate of Sheridan High School. Cody died doing one of the things he loved to do best which was hunting. He also enjoyed fishing with his family and friends also just sitting around talking with his friends. Cody was a very special person to many people and never met a stranger. Cody was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Papa, R.G. and grandma, Sylvia Newton, Papa Elmer and Nana Patsy Green. Cody is survived by his parents; one brother, Darren Allen Newton (Angela); many uncles, aunts, cousins and his girlfriend, Reba; special friend, Prentis Field; many other family members and a host of many friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in the chapel of Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Leola Missionary Baptist Church in Leola, officiated by Brother Johnie Brewster, Brother Richard Sullivant and Brother Robert Newton. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Leola.
