Ronald Marvin Colvert

Ronald Marvin Colvert, 80, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away Nov. 21, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala. Born April 12, 1933, in Leachville, Ark., he was a son of the late Fred and Pearl Dalton Colvert. He was reared and received his early education in Bearden, Ark. graduating from Bearden High School. He attended Henderson State Teachers College, where he received his Bachelor's in Physical Education and Social Studies. Mr. Colvert served four years in the United States Navy. He was employed with the National Center for Toxicological Research at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for 43 years as a Microbiologist. In March of 1958, he married Jane Hawkins. Together, they had two sons and shared nearly 40 years of love, marriage and memories until her death in 1997. He was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Colvert; sister, Helen Amsden; and brothers, Jewell Ray McGinnis, Fred, Kenneth and Donald Colvert. Mr. Colvert is survived by his two sons, Phil Colvert, and wife Dawn, of Madison, Ala. and Paul Colvert, and wife Jeanette, of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Michael Colvert, and wife Kristin, Lauren, Sarah and Sean Phillip Colvert; and one great-grandchild, Lawson Colvert. Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Pine Bluff First Assembly of God Church, with Reverend Gary Bell officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
