Carol Scott Kendrick

Carol Scott Kendrick passed away at home with her family by her side on September 28, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 14, 1951, in Millinocket, Maine, the daughter of Elliott and Mary (Healey) Scott. She was a 1969 graduate of Stearns High School. Carol worked at Great Northern Paper Company for 28 years, where she met her husband, Tom. They were married in 1977 and raised two children, Alexis and Robert, who were the pride of her life. She was also a loving Nana to her two grandsons. Carol was a lifelong learner and always encourage others to pursue their goals. While working at GNP, she earned her AS from the University of Maine at Augusta. She was always learning new crafts, basket making, quilting, tole painting, acrylic painting, crocheting, and her favorite, knitting. Carol left GNP and went back to school to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She was proud to have graduated at 53 years young from KVCC in 2004. Although her career was cut short due to illness, she was very proud to be a "patient advocate". Carol was also an avid reader. She moved throughout Maine with her husband and eventually resided in Arkansas. She loved to travel and traveled throughout the United States, her favorite being a trip to California where she and Tom traveled down CR-1. She really enjoyed traveling throughout the southern US during the last few years. Carol is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 36 years, Thomas Kendrick of White Hall, Ark., her two children, Alexis Stucki and her husband Mike of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Robert Kendrick of Lewiston, Maine, two beautiful grandsons, Maxwell Thomas Stucki and Joshua DeMarco Stucki, five sisters, Peggy Elliot and her husband, Danny of Millinocket, Sandra Lewis and her husband Greg of Lubbock, Texas, Nancy Thompson and her husband Mike of San Diego, Calif., Elizabeth Wallace and her husband Mike of Millinocket, and Sharon Baty of The Woodlands, Texas. She is also survived by two aunts, Eleanor Mackin and Mary Ellen Dickey, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Sally Illingworth and her husband, John. Per Carol's request, a celebration of life will be held next summer in Maine. Tom, Alexis, and Bob would like to thank their family, friends, and Tom's work family for all of the love and support over the last few months.
