Roy Shelby Woodson, 81, of Conway, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He was born May 26, 1932 in Fort Smith, Ark. to the late Roy Ray and Elizabeth Lee Fitzgerald Woodson. Roy served during the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service as Lt. Colonel. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1954 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and in August of 1976 at UCA and also was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Arkansas. Roy was employed for 20 years as a CPA for the State Health Department. He was a supporter of St. Joseph Catholic School and enjoyed spending time with his family. Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years June Crosby Woodson, one son, Timothy Roy Woodson and wife Cynthia of Conway, two daughters, Shelby Ann Rogerson and husband Daniel of Jacksonville, FL and Elizabeth Joan Flannery and husband Thomas of Grand Prairie, Texas and six grandchildren Emily, Ian, Laura, Alyssa, Peter and Carolyn. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday October 5th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, with Father Joseph Archibong serving as Celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
