Helen Wise Smith

Helen Wise Smith passed from this earth on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was born on April 3, 1930 in White County - North Central Arkansas. She was raised on the family farm by her parents, John and Foy Wise, along with seven siblings. Helen retired as a printed circuit designer after over 20 years of employment at Texas Instruments. Helen was a loving force in the lives of her daughters Margie, Betty and Lisa Smith; son-in-law, Ken Glascock; and grandchildren, Jonathan Gaspredes and Katelyn Glasmith. She is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Thompson and Naomi Townsend; brother-in-law, Clestene Townsend; sister-in-law, Janice Wise; and many nephews and nieces. Helen was blessed to have a number of very special friends and chose to live her life based on her faith, touching others through her kind and gentle nature. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City and Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, 6 -8 p.m. at the R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
