Reginald "Reggie" Sewell

Reginald "Reggie" Sewell passed away October 4, 2013 in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was born February 14 1931 to Ora Jerdan and Altea Daniel Sewell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from 1950-1953 and made over 100 jumps. On February 10, 1955 he was initiated into the Bartlett Lodge No. 697 of Bartlett, TN. Being a Mason and Scottish Rite Shriner was very important to him. Reggie was a Glazier by trade and started his own business in Nashville before moving it to Ft. Myers in 1978. He was owner and operator of Sewell Door Control & Glass which was open for 30 years and was well respected throughout the community. His hobbies were spending time with family, boating, fishing and hunting, scuba diving and he enjoyed watching sports, even Nascar. He also loved the farm in Monticello and riding the tractor. He was a loving and kind, generous, hard working, devoted man and some would say a crazy driver. Survivors include his wife Mavis Cruce Sewell; three daughters, Tammy Sewell, Regina Heck and husband, John and Sharon Curtis; one sister, Rita Bower; one brother, William Sewell; five grandsons, Travis Minix, Jr., Tyler Minix, Austin Martin, Jonathan Heck and Julian Heck. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery.
