Myrtle Ann Higgins

Myrtle Ann Higgins, 77, of Will Bailey Road, Hartwell, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Born on October 28, 1936 in Dumas, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Dwain Godfrey and Myrtle Gertrude Birch Godfrey. She was a teacher of music for 28 years with the Whitehall School System in Whitehall, Arkansas, she was an artist, loved to do needlework and was a member of Hartwell First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Higgins; three sons: Bruce Chavis of Bryant, Ark., Walt Chavis of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Barry Chavis of Hot Springs, Ark.; a step-daughter, Holly Caswell of Hartwell; a step-son, Chad Higgins of Fairmont, West Virginia; a sister, Gail Cobb of Texarkana, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons: Jeff Chavis and Clay Chavis. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
