Morton Lee "Marty" Alley, 87, of Little Rock, Ark. went to be with his Lord Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born December 27, 1925 in Little Rock to the late Homer Edwin and Emma Francis Muller Alley. Marty retired after working for Safeway for 36 years. He also served 45 years with the Arkansas State Fair. He worked as a parking attendant at War Memorial Stadium and for the Arkansas Travelers at both Ray Winder and Dickey-Stephens Fields. He enjoyed scrapbooking, collecting coins, and playing bingo. Marty was a member of Christian Life Center in Little Rock for 15 years. He served God, country, and family in the United States Army, earning a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle during World War II. Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy Thompson Alley; parents; stepmother, Sarah Ann Alley; sons Daniel Leslie Alley and Baby Boy Alley; brother, Joseph David Alley; and sister, Mary Francis Weir. Survivors include his daughter, Emma Katherine Alley of Little Rock, Ark.; his sister, Betty Lou (Charles) Butler of Mabelvale, Ark.; and a host of extended family and other loved ones. The family wishes to express special thanks to St. Vincent's In-Home Care, Veterans' Administration, and ADHC at Fort Roots. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209 (501) 455-5800.
