Winslow A. Hendrich passed away on Oct. 19, 2013. He was born on Dec. 19, 1924 to the late Wenslow and Emily Hendrich, in Dorrance, Kan. They were a sweet and loving family who read the Bible and prayed every day. They attended First Baptist Church in Wilson, Kan., every Sunday. Winslow heard of God's love for him in sending Jesus to die on the cross to wash away sins with His blood. Early in life he received Jesus into his heart, was baptized and joined the church there in Wilson, Kan. When the dust storms hit Kansas, the family moved to Arkansas for a while and when the storms ceased, they moved back to Dorrance to continue farming. When Winslow finished high school in Dorrance, his father moved the family to Esbon, Kan., to farm and to attend church. While there, he met his sweet and loving wife, Joy. They fell in love and were married on Nov. 18, 1947. He continued to farm and work in the church. In 1954, Winslow and Joy moved to Naylor, Ark. to work with Child Evangelism Fellowship. He farmed and raised turkeys and worked at the Baldwin Piano Co. in Conway to supplement their income. They moved to Little Rock when Winslow became the State Director for Child Evangelism Fellowship, and for over 40 years trained and taught in many churches and fairs throughout the state with hundreds making decisions for Christ. In 1993, Winslow and Joy moved back to Vilonia and taught Children's Church at First Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed his family and friends. He had two brothers, John Hendrich, deceased, Jim Hendrich of Fair Play, Mo.; three sisters; Helen Haas, deceased, Daisy Bane and Ester Carver, both of Anthony, Kan. The Lord blessed Winslow and Joy with six children, Marilyn Fosha and Ruth Ann Hendrich, both deceased; Evelyn Vance (Earl) of Naylor, Ark., Steven Hendrich and Gloria Lercher (Jim) of Little Rock, Ark., and David Hendrich of Vilonia, Ark.; grandchildren, Jeremy Engdahl of Vilonia, Ark., Dr. Matthew Hendrich (Lindsey) of Little Rock, Ark., Sarah Sanders (Marty) of Mount Vernon, Ark., Mary Joy Bush (Brandon) of Little Rock, Ark., and Hannah Hendrich of Vilonia, Ark.; and seven great-grandchildren.
