ZOLA EDNA OTT of Jacksonville, passed away Oct. 19 after 93 years of life. Edna was born in Monroe County, Ark. on Feb. 8, 1920 to Carrie Irene Summers and Jacob Monroe "Jake" Kynion, a pioneer family from Cape Girardeau, Mo. Nicknamed "Snooks," she was known for her mastery of both household and kitchen. Edna married Alva Jackson Ott in 1938 and gave birth to three boys soon after. Edna was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville and worked 35 years at the Redmond Motor Plant alongside her husband. Edna will be remembered for her optimistic attitude, sweet disposition, meringue pies, beautiful crochet and quilt work, faith in the Lord, and her unwavering love for her family. Her mother, father, husband, and sister Bertha (Girod) Atkinson precede her in death. Edna is survived by her sister Vaudean (Bob) Burrow of Brinkley; three sons Jack (Charlene) Ott of Jacksonville, Harold (Floy) Ott of Cabot, and Fred (Linda) Ott of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren Jerrie Ott, Harold Ott, Rachel Ott, Brian Ott, and Jamie (Lucas) Shaw; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Monday, Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136 with a one-hour visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Please sing the online guestbook at www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
