Alcibee B. Tharp

Alcibee B. Tharp, 91, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at her home. Born in Choudrant, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Cledith and Alma Collie Butler. Alcibee was a nurse's aid before her retirement and she moved from North Little Rock, Arkansas to the Spring City community in 2005. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Association, the Sunshiner's in Arkansas and the Red Hat Club of Spring City. Alcibee was a member of the North Hills Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband James P. Tharp, step-son Ronald Tharp and brother Clyde Butler. Survivors include her daughters Tijuana (Gary) Gilmore of Spring City and Barbara (Tommy) Hutto of Damascus, Arkansas, eight grandchildren and nine great=grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 1 pm at the Beulah Cemetery in Choudrant, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spring City United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 158, Spring City, Tenn. 37381.
