Pearlie Lawson Rogers, 69, of North Little Rock, a 1961 graduate of S.A. Jones high school, transitioned to her new home on Sunday. Pearl taught in Poplar Bluff, Mo. In the R-1 school district for 25 years which includes the historic Wheatly school, and w-k school, later moving back to North Little Rock where she taught at St. Augustine Catholic Scho0l for 15 years. She retired from teaching in 2009. She's preceded in death by her parents, Rev. McKinley and Lillie Mae Lawson; brothers, J.L Parker Tommy, Benny and Earnest Lawson; sisters, Ethel Ellis and Francis Lawson; and her dear aunt, Pearlie Vesey. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Felicia Rogers Hughes; and her much loved grandchildren, Maxwell an Mia; brothers, Robert (Vergie) and Clarence Lawson; sisters, Minnie Walter, Rev. Erma Armstrong and Priscilla Lawson; two aunts, Madie Eaton and Alice Norris; one uncle, Clarence Thomas Jr. Funeral 11 am. Saturday, Bethel A.M.E Church, 600, Cedar, North Little Rock. Interment: Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday, 6-7 p.m. Watson-Northcrest, 1801 Maple, 812-5303.
