Ralph Hickey, 79, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. The son of Noel and Lois Hickey, he was born December 5, 1933 in Bullfrog Valley. He married Barbara Tackett, on February 8, 1958 at Dover. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a salesman for National Life and Accident Insurance/American General Insurance for 28 years. He attended the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Dover where he taught Sunday school and played guitar. He also attended the Russellville Assembly of God Church where he played guitar. He was a member of Dover Masonic Lodge #17 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and past Worshipful Master, Shriners International, VFW and United Commercial Travelers. He enjoyed writing and playing gospel songs and volunteering with the Pope County Senior Activity Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Duncan; and two brothers, Carson and John Ed Hickey. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hickey, Russellville; two sons, Nathan Hickey, Hot Springs, Gregory Hickey, Tulsa; sister, Verdell Meadows, Dover; three grandchildren, Aaron Hickey, Tulsa, Chelsey Hickey, Russellville, April Hickey, Tulsa; two great grandchildren, Briana Woodard and Bryson Woodard, both of Russellville; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hickey, Tacoma, Wash., Shirley Hickey, Centerville; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville. Rev Dan Baker and Rev Bud Avants will officiate. Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery in Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are Leonard Elliot, Larry English, Heady Nezhadpour, Ralph Greer, Ernie Jackson, Dan Shuffield. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Muldoon, Dave Engles, Terry Adkins.
