O. Bart Howen

O. Bart Howen, age 71, of Jacksonville passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. He was born April 25, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Eric E. Howen and Beatrice Howen. He was also preceded in death by his son Troy William Howen in 1982, and his daughter Candace Moody in 2011. Mr. Howen was a member of Delta Nu-Alpha Fraternity, Northern Illinois Traffic Club, and he was a loving family man and an avid golfer. Mr. Howen retired early from a long successful career in the transportation industry due to a progressive illness. He is survived by his son Craig A. Howen, Carol Howen his wife of 26 years, one step-daughter Penny, and four grandchildren; Courtney, Carmen, Jordan, and Justin Moody. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
