On October 30, 2013, Helon Kennedy Wright lost her battle with Alzheimer's. Helon was born August 29, 1934 in Broom, Mississippi to Clarence and Helon Berry. Her mother passed soon after her birth and she became the beloved baby of not only her father but two wonderful aunts, Exie Gipson and Virginia Jones. Clarence would remarry and give her a beautiful sister, Paula Cochran of Broom and a wonderful brother, Keith Berry also of Broom. After one year at Southern Mississippi University, Helon came to spend the summer with favorite cousin, Anna Gray, where she met and married James H. Wright. James and Helon had three children, James Jr. of Anderson, Mo., Cindy (Lambertus) of Jacksonville, Ark. and Beckie (Bobenmoyer). Helon worked outside the home but her most beloved position would be as the secretary at First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville where she served for 32 years. Helon is preceded in death by her father, Clarence, mother, Helon, her husband James, niece Leslie Cochran, her brother and sister-in-law Dub and Margie Wright and her beloved friend Johnnie Tripp. She is survived by her son James (wife Debbie), daughters, Cindy (husband Gary) and Beckie, brother Kieth (wife Diane) and sister Paula (husband Gerald), her beloved grandsons Jon and Aaron Wright, Danner Rogers, Robert Lambertus and Jacob Bobenmoyer and her great-grandchildren whom she cherished even more. Helon found great friendship and laughter with her longtime friend Arleta Dupree. Helon will continue to watch over her favorite pastors Dr. Greg Webb and Charles Watt. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Arkansas Hospice and everyone who cared for her during her battle with Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made, in her name, to the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Ark. Family visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main St., Jacksonville. Memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, Ark. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
