Joanna H. Mayo

Joanna H. Mayo, 82, of Bigelow, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 in Little Rock. She was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1931 in Bigelow, to the late Paul H. and Rosie (Siefkert) Olles. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joanna was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, The Cattleman's Association and retired from Safeway Bakery. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of sixty one years, James W. Mayo, Sr. of Bigelow; two daughters, Mary Ann McAlister and husband Edwin of Bigelow; Paula Ready and husband Gene of Aiken, South Carolina; son, James W. Mayo, Jr. and wife Annette of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Robert Mayo, Roger Conner, Jr., Edwin McAlister Jr., James McAlister and Paul Dalton Mayo; three great-grandchildren, Hayley and Caitlyn Mayo and Joshua Conner; sister, Agnes Gunther and husband Conrad and brother Johnny Olles and wife Betty all of Bigelow. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose Marie Olles; two brothers, Paul and Peter Frank Olles. A Rosary will be at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery with Father Richard Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
