John Edward Lord

John Edward Lord, 87, of Monticello passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born March 31, 1926 to the late Jessie B. and Louie Arrington Lord. He was a Optical Laboratory Technician and owner of Ed's Eye Shop, a U. S. Navy Veteran of WW II and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozell Lord, his grandfather, Dr. Reno Lord and a brother, Aubrey Lord. Survivors include his wife Sue Crossnoe Featherston Lord or Monticello; one sister, Annie Mae Lewis of Longview, Texas; one stepson, Mike Featherston and wife, Cindy of Monticello; one stepdaughter, Renee Withers and companion, Dennis of Monticello and a host of step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Thursday, September 12 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
