Stella Mae Halsey, 100, of Greenbrier, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 14, 1912. She was born on Saturday, Nov. 30, 1912 in the Centerville Community to the late Matthew and Hester Glover Blythe. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a retired teacher from Conway School Systems. Stella is survived by her son, Larry Halsey and wife, Mary Ann of Greenbrier; daughter, Eddie Carolyn Whitehead and husband, David of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Kurt Whitehead and Shelia Hines; four great-grandchildren; Katie and Jacob Hines and Kaitlyn and Victoria Morgan; two sister-in-laws, Katheline Blythe and Pearl Halsey and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Eddie M. Halsey; two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at Centerville Methodist Church in Greenbrier. Burial will follow in McNew Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
