Mitchell Hudson McCollum

Mitchell Hudson McCollum, 55, passed away on Saturday, September 21 at his home in Little Rock, AR. He was born on November 5, 1957 in Boonville, Mo. to Gerald and Sue McCollum. Mitch grew up in Boone County, MO where he graduated high school at Hickman High in Columbia, Mo. After he joined the United States Air Force where he led a long and successful career, he then began work in the Golf community, eventually landing in Little Rock where he touched the lives of everyone he encountered. When Mitch wasn't at the golf course you could find him in the company of his family and many friends. He also enjoyed jazz immensely as well as fishing, trips to the ocean, and sports of all kinds. Mitch was married to Trudy McCollum (Cornelison) on October 5, 1996. They were happily married for nearly 17 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Sue McCollum, his sister, Janice Ann McCollum, and his son, Jared Lee McCollum. Mitch is survived by his wife Trudy of Little Rock, his father Gerald of Boonville, Mo, and his son Justin of Mascoutah II, his grandchildren, Timothy and Henry, as well as many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, on Thursday, September 26, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
