Abdolreza "Rezy" Mobarak

Abdolreza (Rezy) Mobarak, of Little Rock, AR, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Rezy was born in Ahwaz, Iran, to the late Alahyar and Zahra Mobarak. At the age of 18, Rezy moved to the United States. Rezy graduated from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. In 1996, he retired from New York Life Insurance Company. Rezy was a founding board member of the UAMS Family Home and was instrumental in its development and creation. He also served on the board of the Arkansas Ronald McDonald House for many years. Rezy is survived by his wife, Judy Stewart Mobarak; his children, Zahra Mobarak Erickson (Gary) and Geoffrey Mobarak; beloved grandsons, Justin Mobarak and Reed Erickson. He is also survived by four brothers: Ali, Karim, Hamid, and Majid Mobarak; and two sisters, Sokhra Mobarak and Kobra Mobarak. Also surviving are Judy's brothers and sisters: Jack, John and Elbert Stewart, Jane Graf and Bertha Bearden; a host of nieces, nephews, and former daughter-in-law, Janie Mobarak. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Mohammad, Hosein, and Hassan Mobarak; sisters, Khadijeh Mobarak and Fatemeh Mobarak; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Stewart; brothers-in-law, Olin and Bolin Stewart, Jay Graf, and Kenneth Bearden; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Hudson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, with Dr. Randy Hyde officiating.
