ELDEAN SCREETON CARPENTER, of North Little Rock, 79, was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Carlisle, Ark. and she went to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. She assisted her husband's dental practice for 48 years before retiring. Eldean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard Allen Carpenter; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bullock of Hot Springs; sons, Terry (Elizabeth) Carpenter of Fayetteville, David (Maria) Carpenter of Sherwood, Allen Fitzgerald of Thailand; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dean Carpenter; and one grandson, Travis Wayne Carpenter. She was a very generous, kind, loving and gracious Mother, Friend, Wife and Grandmother. Eldean was a member of the Beebe chapter of the Eastern Star, she was elected to Worthy Matron and was appointed to serve as a representative for the Arkansas Chapter for two years in New York City. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Sylvania cemetery, Ward, Ark.
