Eula Nell Edwards Oliver

Eula Nell Edwards Oliver, 89, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was born June 11, 1924 in Bald Knob, Ark. to the late Roy T. and Christina Edwards. Preceding her in death were her husband of 47 years, Harold Oliver, her parents, and a sister, Verneal Curtis. She graduated from Fayetteville High School with honors in 1942. She attended the University of Arkansas where she was a Chi Omega, majored in journalism and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Horton of West Memphis and Kathy Holt of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Laura Horton of West Memphis and Oliver Holt of Little Rock; a sister, Irene Feild of Little Rock; a brother, R.T. Edwards of Prairie Grove, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of Tyler Street Baptist Church until she transferred her membership to Immanuel Baptist Church where she was a member of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class. She had tremendous faith and loved her Lord. Friends, nieces and nephews called her their "other mother" because she gave them unconditional love and support. She cherished her friends and family and adored her grandchildren. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice Home Care for their care and compassion during her final months. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 2 at Ruebel followed by burial at Mount Holly Cemetery. Preceding the funeral on Wednesday, will be a lunch and reception from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 N. Mississippi. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
