Mr. Earl Pamplin, 90, of Lake Village, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Mr. Pamplin was born March 17, 1924, in Boydell. He was a veteran of the United States Army, 142nd Infantry Division in World War II where he was awarded a Bronze Star Citation for Heroic Achievement in Combat while in Germany. Following his return from Europe, Mr. Pamplin wed Miss Lorene McCain on August 5, 1946. He and his family moved to the Lake Village area in 1960 where he owned and operated a family farm. Mr. Pamplin produced 60 crops of cotton, soybean and/or rice in the Arkansas Delta, but he will be especially remembered as a beloved father and grandfather. Mr. Pamplin was a member of Lake Village Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lorene McCain Pamplin in 2013; a son, Don Pamplin in 1989; his parents, James Harold & Minnie Lee Gregory Pamplin; a brother, Carl J. Pamplin and two sisters, Addie Mae Williams and Vernelia Hover. He is survived by two daughters Linda Bond and husband, Bruce, and Barbara Adams and husband, Mike; four grandchildren, Susan Book, Jason Bond, Michael Adams, and Christopher Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Makaila Book, all of Lake Village. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday at the Lake Village Baptist Church with burial in the Snyder Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Saturday.
