Cletis Fortner

Cletis Fortner, age 79, of Benton, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014. He was born Sept. 6, 1934 in Jonesboro, La. Mr. Fortner was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from AT&T after 30 years. He attended Gravel Hill Baptist Church and was a volunteer firefighter for the Crow Station Fire Department. Mr. Fortner was preceded in death by his parents, Arley and Vivian Fortner; twin brother, Cline Fortner and two more brothers, Johnny and James Fortner. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sue Fortner; two sons, Randy Fortner and wife Virginia and Todd Fortner and wife Kelly; brother, Paul Fortner; and four grandchildren, Cody Fortner, Kyle Fortner, Grace Anne Fortner and Adam Meek. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with burial at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Bro.
