Helen Christine Green

Helen Christine Presley Green, 92, of Stuttgart passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at a Little Rock hospital. Mrs. Green was born October 22, 1921, in Haglar, Arkansas, to Robert Lee and Cora Bell Norman Presley. She was a retired General Telephone operator and lifelong member of First Christian Church. She was a great cook and was well known for her smothered steak. She loved to bake chocolate sheet cakes and deliver to her friends. She prided herself in the fact that she was a third cousin to Elvis Presley and was an avid collector of his memorabilia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blann Green; a brother, Jack Presley; and a sister, Myrtle Hamil. Survivors are three sons, Blann Green Jr. (Jeanette) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Milton Green (Barbara) of Milan, Michigan, and Paul Green of Little Rock; her twin sister, Irene Drinkwater of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Hart Moore officiating. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
