W.H. "Bud" Goodwin, 82, of Little Rock passed away on April 6, 2014. Born December 14, 1931 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He was an umpire for Arch Street Youth Association and East End ballpark. Special thanks to Darrell Dreher for his friendship. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved his beagle "Babies". He enjoyed spending time growing his roses, reading, woodworking and riding his 4-wheeler with niece, Whitney. His pride and joy were his grandsons, James and Brian. He was a Sgt. (E-5) with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was past Master and a 32nd Degree Mason at Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. He retired from Arkansas Electric Coop after 23 years and from Multi States Electric after 28 years of service. He was a member of H & L and Shellnut Hunting Clubs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua and Garthenia (Whitehurst) Goodwin; and his sister, Edna Whitehurst. He is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Willie Mae; his children, Norma (Greg) Owens; Ellen (Gil) Wood and grandsons, James Owens and Brian Wood of Little Rock; brothers, Alvin (Sammie) Goodwin; B.J. Goodwin of Sheridan, Arkansas and a sister, Sue Sumner of Cleveland, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Ironton Baptist Church with Dr. Sidney Thompson officiating. Interment to follow at Ivy Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.
