Jeannine Tushek Sessions, 83, died peacefully April 10, 2014, in her home in Lake Village, Arkansas. She was born October 16, 1930, in Memphis, Tennessee. Her parents were Jennie and John Tushek. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 1947 where she was valedictorian. She enrolled at Southwestern in Memphis where she majored in voice and music theory. After marrying William Nelson Sessions on June 26, 1949, she transferred to the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1951.
She and Bill settled in Shreveport, Louisiana where they raised their family. After a brief stay in Houston, Texas, they returned to Lake Village in 1979. Jeannine was active in many church, school and community organizations throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married 62 years, and a granddaughter, Allison Ann Sessions.
She is survived by her four children: Dr. Louis Sessions (Cheryl) of Little Rock, Julie Martucci of Kansas City, Missouri, William N. Sessions, Jr. (Cheryl) of Spring, Texas, and Jennifer Shannon (Mike) of Little Rock. She also had 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Dr. Laura Sessions Moore (Dr. Taylor Moore), Adelyn and Piper, Eric Sessions, Ben Sessions, Danny Martucci, Billy Martucci, John Martucci, Jimmy Martucci, Andrew Martucci, Will Sessions (Ariana), Jared Sessions, Alex Shannon, Claire Shannon, Robert Shannon, and Beth Shannon. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Floyd Bunker Sessions of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family would like to thank Jackie Spann for her tireless and loving care.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Lake Village, Arkansas. The service will be on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village, Arkansas at 10 a.m. with Rev. Beth Perdue officiating. Burial will be at Lake Village Cemetery. Memorials should be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements made by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of Lake Village, Ark.
