George David Greene IV

Photo of George David Greene IV
"When Did I Love Him Most?" was the name of an article in a magazine. I couldn't say then. I couldn't say now. I was giddy that I had had this child. It never wore off. GEORGE DAVID GREEN IV was born Sept. 19, 1959 and would shape many lives. He would lead his siblings and trail blaze his future. He died April 8, 2014. The lives he touched went from his family to classmates at St. Patrick School and Catholic High School, onto finish college at UALR and then the endless wonderful world of camping in his beautiful Arkansas. Even as his road became harder and harder with his illness, he charmed his nurses, as he had his friends along the way. He simply used up all his heart. His working life would take him from the Little Rock Zoo where he met his beautiful wife, Marie, who has remained a treasured friend. George traveled Europe twice, but it was his native Arkansas in camping and backpacking that held his heart. Later he would criss-cross the state as a Land Resource Specialist and see firsthand all the beauty of Arkansas. George is predeceased by his father, David Roger Greene; and youngest brother, Kelley Kirksey Greene; maternal grandparents, Mary Garrett Stormes and Henry McDowell Gore; paternal grandparents, George David Greene and Johnnie Kirksey Greene. He is survived by his mother, Gaye Garrett Greene; and brother, James Benjamin Garrett Greene and his wife, Alice; sisters, Victoria "Torre" Rayburn Greene and Mary Smiley; uncle, Michael Stormes and wife Susie; three aunts, Martha Jo Puzio and husband Richard, Shannon Stormes and Ellen Pack; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A private service has been held. Please address guestbook comments to www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
