Mac L. Lacefield, 87, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. He was born in Plumerville, Ark. on March 22, 1927 to Forrest and Arkie (Tiner) Lacefield. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Cotton Plant High School and Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) where he was a member of the 1948 undefeated football team. Mr. Lacefield served in the United States Navy during World War II where he was a Fireman Second Class and retired from the United States Department of Energy. He was a member of the Wright Volunteer Fire Department. Mac was an avid fisherman and gardener. He is survived by his wife, Meldean Wade Lacefield of Little Rock; son, David Lacefield (Joyce) of Lantana, Texas; daughter, Kathy McLeod (James) of Little Rock; step-daughters, Nita Lisemby of Little Rock and Leann Pinkerton (Matt) of Sheridan, Ark.; brother, Roger Lacefield (Jerry) of Cotton Plant, Ark.; sister, Frances McCarty of Henderson, Ky.; sister-in-law, Helen Lacefield of Gassville, Ark.; grandchildren, Connor, Evan, Tyler, Teresa, Chuck, Jesse, Kristen and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Henry, Liliana, Gloria, Kristen, Zac, and Olivia; three great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Funeral services will be held at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 17201 Arch Street, Little Rock on Thursday, April 17 at 11 a.m. with Reverend David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200.
