JAMES ROBERT YOUNG, "Jimmy", 61, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on April 19, 2014. Jimmy was born Nov. 21, 1952 in Little Rock. After attending the University of Arkansas and earning a degree in History, he returned to the Little Rock area where he spent most of his life. He lived in Hot Springs Village and worked for an area business until returning to Little Rock for the last year. Jimmy's intelligence was always evident in his discussion of world events, movies, sports and his beloved Razorbacks. He enjoyed spending time around his extended family, attending movies, and watching sports and game shows, especially Jeopardy. His knowledge of a variety of subjects would have made him a good contestant. All those who met him remember his kindness, gentle spirit and sense of humor. He will be missed by his parents, Robert L. and Wanda Young of Little Rock; his sisters, Glenda Merchant (Rusty) of Monticello, Donna Goss (Jim) and Diana Ragsdale (Randy) of Little Rock; along with his nieces and nephews. Jimmy's family would like to thank Community of Hope, St. James United Methodist Church and Christ of the Hills Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Christ of the Hills or Arkansas Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. James UMC, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Bubba Smith officiating. After a reception for family and friends, burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Lonoke. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
